A Welcome Message from our President:
Welcome to the website of the Philadelphia-Bucks Chapter of the Pennsylvania Association of Retired State Employees (PARSE). Our chapter is one of 27 chapters throughout the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, in addition to the members-at-large.
Statewide there are over 37,000 members. Our chapter consists of more than 2,000 members. The largest chapter is Central Penn, encompassing Harrisburg and its surrounding area, with approximately 10,000 members. Our motto is “There is Strength in Numbers.”
PARSE is here to enhance and protect your pensions, health programs, and other issues affecting retirees. As retirees, dental and vision services are no longer available through the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania; however through PARSE, enrollment is available in affordable insurance programs. Our agent for these services is AMBA (Association Member Benefits Advisors), formerly Professional Insurance Services, Inc. (PISI).
Membership in our chapter is open to all retired state employees or anyone receiving a state pension, such as school district employees or state affiliated university personnel. Family members of retirees can also join as associate members. Many of our members who worked in Philadelphia, but reside elsewhere, have opted to join our chapter to renew associations with former co-workers. We hold two business meetings annually, one in the Spring and one in the Fall. We also sponsor social trips to casinos and other events as well as an annual holiday celebration.
Come out and join us! The annual PARSE's membership fee is a mere $20.00
